If you experience a problem with the Builder, or unexpected results you can help us track down the cause of the problem by enabling the Builders logging function. While logging is enabled the Builder will record technical details of its operations, along with any errors or warnings that may occur. This is very useful for us to determine the cause of the problem. Below are the instructions to enable logging.

These instructions only apply to Lucid Builder v3.6.x

  1. Copy the ‘log4j.properties’ file found in the ‘<install folder>\resource\’ folder to the ‘.lucid’ folder found in your user folder.

E.g. log4j file found in ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Lucid3_6\resource\’ ---copy to ---> ‘C:\users\<your username>\.lucid\’

  1. Open the copied ‘log4j.properties’ file in a text editor and look for a line containing ‘log4j.appender.logfile.File=’.

    Edit this options value to the folder location where the log file can be written. This should be a folder your account has write permission. E.g., Avoid using the Lucid install folder. The line should look something like:
log4j.appender.logfile.File=C:/temp/lucid.log

Note the use of forward slashes rather than backslashes.

  1. Next, run the Builder and perform the operation(s) you have having trouble with.
  2. Finally, close the Builder and email the log file back to us.
